January favourites

Hello guys!

So can you believe, it’s the end of January?! I frickin’ can not believe that we are already in February. I mean sometimes it felt as if January went on forever, but now it’s over I’m just thinking where did it go?

A lot of exciting things coming up in Feb – I’m going to paint some plates at Emma Bridgewater factory, baby shower, a few meals out and then my maternity leave starts towards the end of Feb!

So this is my first ever favourites blog post and I wanted it to be a representation of what my blog is about really, a mixture of food and other things. I’ve been really good and adding my favourite things to a list on my phone so I remember what I loved, so I need to make sure I do that in Feb? I find I’m a creature of habit and this has definitely made me go out of my comfort zone. ANYWAY enough rambling, let’s begin!

P.s. All the thoughts are my own and I HAVE NOT being paid for any of the items featured.

Fox’s Golden Crunch cream Biscuits

Lidoff_540x540-1

These are just the biscuit queens and I cannot express how many packets I went through this month, to the point I’ve banned them for a short while from my life. To describe them would be like saying they are a posh custard cream and perfect for dunking in tea. There are other varieties of this biscuit including chocolate, ginger and red velvet but for me these are the bees knees

Available at all supermarkets.

The Collective Mini Yogurts

The collective yogurts are the dream of yogurts in my opinion and have added that luxury that sometimes you need without feeling guilty for eating a packet of Golden Crunch Creams. I never really bought them before because they are pricey yogurts and I didn’t seem worth it. HOWEVER they now sell mini tubs of the yogurt and it’s a game changer. I love the raspberry one and Andy is a big fan of the mango.

Available at most supermarkets.

Line of Duty

So a non-food related favourite this month. If you have not watched the Line of Duty series then you are missing out. Once you have pushed through the first episode, everything makes sense and it’s so gripping. I think I watched 4 series in 2 weeks (damn work for getting in the way!) It’s about the anti-corruption unit of the police who everyone hates because they are massive snitches and you know what happens to snitches.. Well the cast is excellent and at first you think.. average bloke but by the end of series 4 you want to marry him. I will not give you spoilers but basically I learnt from it do not trust anyone and everyone has affairs.

Available on BBC iplayer and Netflix

Botanics skin care line

This was discovered in Boots when I was desperate for emergency moisturiser after suffering with a cold and needing to make my skin feel 10x healthier than it did. I stumbled across the Botanics skin care range. The packaging is beautiful and it’s affordable so it’s a winner. I chose the cleansing toner and eye roll on to brighten up my skin. I love both of these and I use both of them morning and night.

I will be trying more of their products in the future.

(Available at Boots)

Frozen spinach

Back to food eh! Now this is not something new that I can brag about discovering because I’m very aware that this product has been around for a good while. However I’m new to it, so I’m just going to dedicate a small section of my blog to the magic that is frozen spinach. What is so great you ask smugly from your living room? Well it doesn’t go off and soggy at the bottom of your fridge and you just pop a few squares.. that look like green poos in what you are making and ta-da you have spinach!

Available at all supermarkets

Meet up – app.

I’m going to do a whole blog post dedicated to this app and what activities I’ve done on. Well anyway after Christmas I thought I want to meet people in the area that I can hang out with as I don’t know many people in the area we live except my family. It’s a brilliant app that allows you to join groups set up by people in the area and do activities whilst meeting new people. So far I’ve been for coffee and cake, the cinema, a few meals and have a few more in the pipe works.

The app is free to download and is available on Apple App Store (unsure about other phones sorry!)

Blog

If you haven’t noticed or are new to my blog (welcome!) then I’ve been religiously blogging 3 times a week since the start of January. It now feels like a way of life and is the longest I’ve continuously blogged for. I’m loving writing a blog, making content for it and feeling more creative. I would definitely say that I’m very busy with working alongside the blog but it does make our meals a lot nicer!

Rimmel Sun Shimmer Self-Tan Mousse (Fake tan).

Finally the one thing that makes me feel human sometimes and not like a whale! This is my favourite fake tan and has never given me streaks so hell yeah! It comes out as a brown mouse and you apply it evenly to all areas/whatever area you want fake tanning. About 20 minutes later you are a golden goddess and just get darker. It lasts between 5-7 days and is just my go-to fake tan.

I use light and this is good coverage for me – still making me look very brown but not obvious fake tan.

Available at Boots/Superdrug/online.

So I hope you enjoyed my first favourites post. Let me know if you have tried these products or have recommendations for next month.
