I’m so very looking forward to what 2018 has in store for me, as it’s the year that my baby will be born!!
Before we rush into the New Year, I wanted to take a look at what great things happened to me in 2017. Of course there were sad times too, including the passing of my Grandma. 2017 has been a pretty awesome year!
1.Passing my Masters and getting a new job
I was lucky enough to be able to complete a Masters in Social Work as recent budget cuts and other financial things, mean this course was limited to it’s intake of people. Although it was 2 years of hard graft, I was so happy to be told I passed my Masters. It also meant that I can now use the phrase “I’m smarter than you, I have a masters”, although this did get old quick.
After many failed attempts at interviews, due to my nerves mostly I was so happy and relieved when I was offered a full time position in a job I love. I have made so many great friends at work and enjoy it so much.
2. Getting pregnant (??!)
Now some of you may be thinking why was this not first. I’d like to think it’s tied with number 1, but as excited as I am to meet my new baby, to be honest it has been hard too. I think our little family is going to be great, but the timing was unexpected and the changes in my body have been difficult for me to grasp. I just didn’t realise I could get out of breath getting off the sofa…
However everytime I feel her kick, I know we are there for each other. Also all the cute baby clothes?!!
3. Moving into a new house.
Another big milestone in mine and Andy’s relationship. They all seem to have come at once, but we love our home and living together. Although we basically saw each other everyday before, it’s the little things such as bills, rent, food shopping, who is watching TV that were the mountains to get over….
The house is still a working project and although we have a great landlord, it sucks that I can’t always make the changes I want too. Anyway we love it (I do anyway…)
I’ve been lucky enough to go abroad twice this year. Once to Amsterdam and the other time to Corfu, both with my gal pals. To be honest, the Corfu holiday was an experience and apart from losing my passport, avoiding the food at the buffet and been stalked by creepy Greek men, it was an amazing trip with my friends.
I have no words for Amsterdam, because it was freezing and beautiful.
5. Harry Potter World.
Hm maybe not something you would place in your top 5 moments, but as a BIG BIG Harry Potter fan I could not have asked for a better Christmas 2016 present. Even Andy loved it and he has never seen Harry Potter (I’m working on it).
The whole trip felt magical from the moment you step onto the bus, to the pretending to ride a broomstick to the gift shop where many pounds were spent.
Andy also got his most liked Instagram picture ever from there and will be forever grateful.
So as I sit here in my PJs, contemplating 2017 and everything about. What does 2018 bring?
I know I’m looking forward to becoming mum and meeting our little lady for the first time.
Apart from that my plans are limited.
*My goals are to keep up to date with my blog
*Take more pictures
*Eat less takeaway food
*Join a gym after baba is born.
Some people’s goals may be to travel more or do better in their job. I don’t want to make plans I can’t keep and I know the harsh reality motherhood brings.
So Happy New Year and have a good un’
