What I bought in Manchester

Hey guys,

This post is a little bit different to my normal food related posts. I wanted to try something different and branch out. Be under no illusion that I have any idea about fashion this is just for fun.

So last weekend I went shopping in Manchester with my friend Hannah. My Instagram feed is full of photos of me and Hannah as she is one of my best friends who is basically the taller version of me. We were meant to be meeting to go day drinking, but logistics got in the way and we planned a day of shopping instead.

I thought I would show you all what I bought. I understand this isn’t food related and by no means am an I expert in fashion. However I like seeing this sort of thing on other people’s blogs/videos so I thought I would give it a try. I didn’t go overboard in what I bought for a change. DSCN0122

Pineapple swimming costume

This is for my holiday in September to Greece. I want something for days when I’m not comfortable getting the bod out. You all know what I mean? Also it makes sense for me to have an item of clothing with pineapples on. I used to associate swimming costumes with mums, grannys and athletes but I mean if people on Love Island can do it, so can I right? (probably wrong).

Dungaree skirt.

This was such a cute buy. I always think Topshop is a bit hit and miss, the fashion can sometimes go over my head. I think this will go along great with a short/long sleeved top and can be worn in summer and winter. I really love the detail of the flowers and I know this is going to become a favourite.

Print shorts.

Another purchase for the holidays. I wanted something to wear if we go away from the hotel for the day or to wear next to the pool. I hate spending fortunes of holiday clothes as I don’t know what I’ll be doing net year. These are lightweight and comfy, at a steal of a price.

My friend Hannah was the one who asked to look at the shoes section in Selfridges. I was a woman of restraint until this point. Then I saw these in the sale and I was gone, already thinking of times when I could wear them. Although they are a bit higher than I first thought they are just lovely and I adore them. I even wore them to the supermarket to ‘wear them in.. and to show off my amazing new shoes. My mum bought me my first pair of Kurt Geiger shoes when I was 21 as a present for starting a new job and I still have them. I think they will take a little bit of time to break them in but oh well more time to show them off.

I think paperchase is one of the best and most addictive shops in the world. Full of things I do not need, but somehow find an excuse for a budget planner in the shape of unicorn? I was looking for a diary for my new job, but since they did not have one I had to buy something? As it’s my other friend’s birthday this weekend I bought her this card.

Rimmel Insta Contouring Stick

You could not have missed all the hype on the internet about this range. Most of it paid for granted, but I wanted to try it myself. First impressions I was not a fan as I found it hard to blend into my cheeks and had quite rigid lines. Second time I used it I really liked using it for contouring my nose, jaw and forehead as it was a lot more precise. I also used a beauty blender and this helped a lot more. Going to keep using it, but so far not easily impressed.

Max Factor Brow Shaper

Prior to this I was using Clinique brow shaper and I loved how simple and easy this was to use! Sadly the price of Clinique brow shaper and how quickly it finished made it something I couldn’t afford to buy again so soon. So I needed something similar but not as costly. As first when I did my eyebrows using this I thought OMG what have a I done, my eyebrows look like slugs. Next time I used it I learnt not to be heavy handed and I think they look a lot better, maybe still a little bit dark. If like me you can’t always afford the luxury make-up, this is a good product. HOWEVER they only come in 2 shades of brown, light and dark and I’m somewhere in between.

Lottie London Slay All Day Matte Lipgloss

I can not recommend this brand enough. I have bought this lipgloss and lip liner before in a darker shade and loved it! It stays on for hours, doesn’t dry my lips out and just feels nice. So I bought the lighter pink shade ‘werk it’ and it did not disappoint.

So I hope you enjoyed an insight into my little corner of the world and it wasn’t too boring.
